Variety Management

McGrath Nurseries has the sole propagation rights for GPVA (Global Plants Variety Administration), an innovator in variety development since 1989.

Varieties introduced by GPVA have significantly changed the shape of fruit growing in New Zealand, with some of the exclusive varieties available from McGrath Nurseries including Gilmac, KORU(R), Honeycrisp, Starletta and Sweet Valentine.

GPVA is owned by Andy McGrath, former owner of McGrath Nurseries Ltd., and works closely with New Zealand and International peers in the selection, development and management of new varieties.

McGrath Nurseries will continue to move forward together with GPVA in introducing new varieties to the New Zealand fruit industry.

Gilmac

Gilmac is an exceptionally pretty and unique pink dappled and striped mutation of Royal gala.
