Northern Spy x M 1 

 

Size compared to seedling:

50-55% 
 

Tolerances:

Better in replant sites and wet soils than MM 106 
 

Resistances:

Woolly apple aphid 
 

Susceptibilities:

Susceptible to phytophthora but better than M 26 
 

Precocity:

Medium 

 

Support:

Can be grown freestanding but support suggested.  Anchorage fair to good. 

   

 

 

Notes

Grows trees with low branch angles.
An overlooked rootstock,
OK in replant sites, but not fully tolerant.
Has a particular affinity with some scion varieties.
