Alba® is a beautiful quality white fleshed peach. Very attractive with a translucent pink coloured skin.  Productivity varies depending on site.  May be better in higher chill environments.

  Maturity: December 28 to January 4 based on Commercial Harvesting dates in Hastings
  Fruit Size: Large for its season.  25 and 28 predominant size (226 gm)
  Fruit Shape:

Peach - Rounded with no tip

  Skin Colour: 90% bright pink stripe over a creamy white background.  Unusually bright for a white fleshed peach.

Non-melting

  Flavour:

Full acid with exceptional flavour.  Rich and aromatic.

  Stone:

Freestone and small in size

Tree

  Cropping: Heavy and regular where chilling exists, but can be light North of Auckland and some years in Waikato
  Blossom: Mid season, showy, pink, sets well
  Pollination: Self-fertile
  Vigour: Medium to high
  Tree Habit/Form: Spreading

Notes

 

Large size especially for the season.  Good in storage and no bruising apparent.  Colour and flavour outstanding.  Unique time slot.  Hardy tree.
